WEB BROWSER CALCULATORS These calculators works off-line. (IE4)

Programmes written by DJR Hutchon.

I believe there is great potential for the use of this technology both in the development and dissemination of logical and statistical methodology within medicine. The browsers are readily available, generally at no cost and the hardware to run the IE 4.0 can be obtained for a few hundred pounds. Soon every hospital and GP practice will have a browser on the desk. These packages are simple to write and fully visible to anyone who wishes to check the logic. The statistical packages are ideal for customising to a particular need. Other much more sophisticated statistical packages are availabe which read data directly from a database. The statistical packages here are not intended to compete with these but they do allow accurate statistical analysis where it might not otherwise be available. It is possible by placing the data within the code to analyse a database directly. (See www.hutchon.freeserve.Growthbase.htm )
